Course Description

Becoming a Clinical Supervisor is a comprehensive, self-paced training program designed for licensed mental health professionals pursuing the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential through the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE). This 45-hour program provides a thorough and practical foundation in the theory, ethics, and practice of clinical supervision.

Participants will explore foundational models of clinical supervision, supervisory relationship dynamics, multicultural and social justice considerations, ethical and legal responsibilities, and evaluation and documentation practices. The program integrates theoretical frameworks with real-world application through case vignettes, reflective exercises, and a Supervisor Toolbox.

Upon completion, participants will have fulfilled the training hour requirement for the ACS credential and will be equipped with the tools, templates, and knowledge necessary to begin or strengthen their practice as clinical supervisors.

For the first time, this ACS-approved training is being offered in a hybrid format at a special discounted rate. This 45-hour program prepares licensed mental health counselors to meet the educational requirements for the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential through the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE).

Becoming a Supervisor — Texas is a 40-hour comprehensive supervision training program designed for Texas-licensed professional counselors (LPC) seeking to become qualified supervisors under the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC). This program meets the BHEC supervisor training requirements for LPCs in Texas.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the Texas supervision framework, including LPC Associate supervision requirements, documentation standards, supervisor responsibilities, and Texas Administrative Code provisions. The program also addresses evidence-based supervision models, supervisee development, and multicultural competency.

The self-paced format allows working clinicians to complete training on their schedule, with consultation support available throughout. Please note this program is not submitted for NBCC CE credit.

No — our trainings are open to all licensed mental health professionals. Because we are an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP #7838), our CE hours are accepted by most state boards and credentialing bodies.
