“Becoming a Clinical Supervisor” is a comprehensive training program designed for licensed mental health professionals in Texas seeking to fulfill the supervised experience and educational requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) designation as outlined by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors (TSBPC).

This course covers all required content areas for clinical supervisor preparation, including the roles and functions of clinical supervisors, theoretical frameworks and models of supervision, supervisory relationship dynamics, methods and techniques for effective clinical supervision, group supervision, evaluation and remediation practices, gatekeeping responsibilities, technology in supervision, administrative procedures, and legal and ethical standards specific to Texas licensure. Cultural responsiveness is integrated throughout the curriculum.

Participants complete all course content through self-paced online modules, followed by a required 3-hour live virtual synchronous session for content review and course completion.
